Frequently Asked Questions
Black Prairie Vintage – FAQ
What eras of vintage clothing do you carry?
We curate vintage clothing spanning from the 1950s through Y2K, with standout pieces from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. Every item is chosen for its character, quality, and authenticity.
Do you only sell prairie-style clothing?
No, while our name nods to America’s forgotten prairies, we carry a wide range of styles, from rugged 70s denim and 80s band tees to minimalist 90s fits and early 2000s streetwear.
Where do you source your vintage clothing?
Our pieces are handpicked across Colorado and beyond, from small towns, forgotten closets, and hidden thrift spots. We focus on finding clothing with a story and a lasting place in today’s wardrobe.
How do I know your clothing is authentic vintage?
Every item we sell is true vintage — meaning it was produced in its original era (1950s–2000s). We carefully check tags, stitching, materials, and details to ensure authenticity.
Do you ship internationally?
At this time we do not offer international shipping, however we plan to in the near future.
What makes Black Prairie Vintage different from other shops?
Our focus is on “clothing unearthed from forgotten America.” Instead of chasing trends, we bring back pieces with history — garments that capture the spirit of the prairie, the suburbs, and the underground scenes of past decades.
Do you accept returns?
We want you to love your purchase, but unfortunately we do not offer returns. Due to the nature of our stock, the condition of our items varies from deadstock to thrashed, faded, stained, etc. The condition of the item is usually detailed in the product description but if you have any questions on the condition of a piece, don’t hesitate to reach out to info@blackprairievintage.com
